Newsletter October 5th 2012

5th October 2012 Dear parents, carers and friends, Thank you all for your support to day on Jeans for Genes day. We will let you know in due course how much money we raised. Of course, it seems ironic talking about uniform on the day we allowed children – and adults - to come in jeans, but I must say once again how smart the children look. My only question would be about footwear – we have had a few pairs of pink trainers, and some of our older ladies wearing boots that are not appropriate for school; please think about this when buying school shoes. However, please do not let my moan detract from excellent levels of uniform. After the excitement of J4G, we have a few more events lined up: 17th October – Harvest Festival 2pm 24th October – Skipathon to raise awareness of the British Heart Foundation These events are adding to what has been an exciting and eventful start to the year. If you want to join in with your children’s learning, please go to the website and look at the blogs, or come into school to look at the amazing displays of work going on. I have just completed a learning walk around the school and seen so many exciting things – rocket building, woodland trips, sweet tasting, cricket and Spanish lessons to name but a few – that it is no wonder our attendance keeps going up. Please come and join in in any way you can. School closes for the end of term 1 (where did that go?) on Wednesday 24th October, and reopens on Monday 5th November – no inset day. We will send out more information about Harvest and the skipathon in due course. Yours faithfully, Zak Willis Headteacher
